Mizner Park Amphitheater will turn into NY's Times Square on New Year's Eve

For one night, Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton will be turned into New York's Times Square for Rob Presents "Times Square in the Park" New Year's Eve party!

DJ Kaisa will be hosting, and there will be live entertainment, champagne toast and ball drop at midnight. For more info or to purchase tickets {tickets range from $100 to $225}, please visit www.robpresents.com. This event is only for ages 21 years or older.

"Anchors Aweigh!" in Coral Springs

It's "Anchors Aweigh!" for this year's Coral Springs Holiday Parade that is taking place on Wednesday, December 14th. The city has embraced a nautical theme that will feature "trailered" boats, local bands, decorated floats and other entries.

The parade will start at 7:00 PM and move along Sample Road from Coral Springs Drive to City Hall. Motorists/drivers, please note that these roads will be closed from 5:00 PM until approximately 10:00 PM:

• Sample Road west of University Drive and east of NW 110th Avenue
• Coral Springs Drive north of NW 29th Street and south of NW 37th Street

And just in case, rain date is Thursday, December 15th.

The Nutcracker in Coral Springs

Hello! The International Ballet Company will perform The Nutcracker on Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts. It will be grand production with stunning costumes and over a hundred performers.

Tickets for this beloved holiday classic are on sale now. You can buy tickets at coralspringscenterforthearts.com or call the theater box office at 954-344-5990. The Coral Springs Center for the Arts is at 2855 Coral Springs Drive. It is just off the Sawgrass Expressway.

South Beach Park in Boca

Happy Sunday, readers! For our first post, here's a picture of South Beach Park just before noon today. Look at those waves.

South Beach Park is one of three beach-front parks managed by the City of Boca Raton. It's at 400 N. Ocean Blvd. {corner of Palmetto Park Road and A-1-A} and is open from 8:00 AM until sundown. While there are no picnic grills or tables at South Beach Park, it has a long stretch of sand, clear water and a pavilion that overlooks it all.
