Hello! We hope you had a happy Christmas!

Boca Raton residents, you can drop off your holiday trees at 751 Banyan Trail (near Mizner Bark Dog Park) from December 26, 2012 until January 18, 2013 for recycling. The trees will be chipped into mulch for the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.

The trees will be picked up in accordance with the City of Boca Raton's Holiday Tree Recycling Program. Make sure to remove all decorations and tinsel before dropping them off. For further details, please call the City's Recreation Services at 561-393-7812.

Holiday Tennis Camp for Kids | Coral Springs FL

The Tennis Center of Coral Springs is currently accepting registrations for its Holiday Tennis Camp for children {ages 5-16}. Get a chance to work on your strokes and game strategies this holiday!

Tennis camp dates are December 26-28, 2012 and January 2-4, 2013. Camp hours are from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Cost is $35 per day, $95 for three days, or $180 for six days.

Boca's 42nd Holiday Street Parade on December 5

Time flies, December's a day away!

The City of Boca Raton will host its 42nd Annual Holiday Street Parade on December 5, Wednesday. The parade will start at 7:30 p.m. and will proceed north along Federal Highway from S.E. 8th Street to Mizner Park.

There will be colorful floats, bands, choirs, dancers, a 20-foot Sun-Sentinel delivery dog and more surprises! Boca's Holiday Street Parade is a popular event where families and neighbors have a great time and enjoy a general festive ambience. This year's theme is "Celebrating Community".

Prescription Take-Back on December 8 | Coral Springs FL

The Coral Springs Police Department will be collecting unused, unwanted or expired prescription medication on December 8, Saturday, 9-11 a.m. at City Hall in the Mall {inside Coral Square Mall at 9239 W. Friday Night Mixed Doubles at the Tennis Center of Coral Springs

A new session of Friday Night Mixed Doubles Tennis for adults at the Tennis Center of Coral Springs will start September 7 until October 12. Teams will be assigned matches every Friday at 7 p.m.

This session is limited to 16 teams so register early. Those who are interested must register by September 4, Tuesday. Registration cost is $20 for members and $50 for non-members.

Call to Artists: City of Coral Springs 50th Anniversary Project

The City of Coral Springs is calling artists to submit concept proposals for its 50th Anniversary Project. The city is looking to commission a piece of art for permanent display at the east entrance of Atlantic Boulevard. The artwork should "embody the city’s mission as the nation’s premier community in which to live, work and raise a family, as well as celebrate the City’s 50th Anniversary." The city's budget for this project is $75,000. The deadline for submission is September 1, 2012.

The City of Coral Springs is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2013.

The City of Coral Springs BizArt Festival is tomorrow {March 4th, Sunday} from Noon until 4:00 PM at the lot next to City Hall South at 9530 W. Sample Road. Project CS 5th Annual Car Show in Coral Springs

The City of Coral Springs will have its 5th Annual Car Show on Saturday, February 4th at The Sportsplex on 2575 Sportsplex Drive {across the Tennis Center} from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

In addition to the amazing car show, Miami food trucks will be there and so will several other vendors. You can expect bounce houses, face painting, carnival games, a DJ; as well as the Teen Cook-Off competition, and demonstrations by the Coral Springs Fire and Police Departments. Admission is $2 for adults, and $1 for students and children.

Co-sponsored by Auto Works Collision and Paint, Inc., proceeds from the event will benefit Project CS Teen Car Club and their efforts in customizing confiscated vehicles.

The Boca Raton Museum of Art is inviting everyone to the 26th Annual Outdoor Juried Art Festival at Mizner Park on the 28th and 29th of January, Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Mizner Park is located in downtown Boca Raton.

Named one of the country’s “Top 100 Art Festivals,” this Outdoor Juried Art Festival is a free event. Over 250 talented artists who work with various types of media like ceramic, glass, wood, sculpture, fiber, and more will be featured.

Gin Blossoms at Mizner Park Amphitheater

Gin Blossoms will be playing at Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton on Friday, January 20th as part of the week-long slew of activities prior to the big football game - The Battle of Florida - on January 21st.

Tickets for January 20th's "Meet the Teams & Gin Blossoms Concert at Mizner Park" will include meeting The Battle of Florida players and coaches starting at 6:00 PM, and a rock concert at 8:00 PM featuring Gin Blossoms who are behind the hits "Hey Jealousy," "Found Out About You, "Til I Hear It From You," and "Allison Road."

Grand Opening of Barkland Dog Park

Save the date, dog-owners! The grand opening of Barkland Dog Park on 9245 Ranch Road in Parkland will be on the 7th, yes, that's this Saturday at 12:00 Noon.

This two-acre dog park is the first of its kind in the beautiful city and will be open everyday from 7:30 AM until sunset. It has separate areas for large and small dogs, a dog washing station, water fountains for pets and their owners, picnic tables, covered pavilions, walking trails, benches and dog play equipment that includes tunnels and agility elements.

For Barkland's grand opening, the Broward County Animal Care will be there to host a low-cost Rabies Clinic for Broward County residents. Bring your pet dogs or cats to get vaccinated and receive a Broward County pet license tag for only $15 {cash only}.
