Call to Artists: City of Coral Springs 50th Anniversary Project

The City of Coral Springs is calling artists to submit concept proposals for its 50th Anniversary Project. The city is looking to commission a piece of art for permanent display at the east entrance of Atlantic Boulevard. The artwork should "embody the city’s mission as the nation’s premier community in which to live, work and raise a family, as well as celebrate the City’s 50th Anniversary." The city's budget for this project is $75,000. The deadline for submission is September 1, 2012.

The City of Coral Springs is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2013.

Independence Day 2012 Events in Parkland and Coral Springs

City of Parkland - July 4th Red, White and Blue Bicycle Parade - Terramar Park at 6575 NW 76th Drive - July 4, Wednesday, 9-11 a.m.

Parade around the park on decorated bikes, wagons or strollers and get a chance to win prizes! In addition to the bike parade, there will be an Evolution Martial Arts demonstration, a bike course and the famous green firetruck will be displayed.

City of Coral Springs - 4th of July Celebration - Mullins Park at 10150 N.W. 29 St. - July 4, Wednesday, 6 p.m. - Fireworks start 9 p.m.

Enjoy bounce houses, food trucks and entertainment! Fireworks will start at 9 p.m. Parking will be available at Mullins Park, Center for the Arts and the Coral Springs Gymnasium for $3.
