Come and celebrate Brazil's Independence Day in Downtown Boca!

The City of Boca Raton will be hosting the 2nd Annual Brazilian Beat on September 6, 2013, Friday, 6-11 p.m. at Sanborn Square at 72 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, 33432. Admission is FREE.

There will be Brazilian food, art, fashion and live music featuring Forró in the Dark and Eta Carinae. There will be lots of street entertainment too with Capoeira dancers, Zumba, drummers and more.

Free parking will be available around the venue including the Downtown Library at 400 Northwest Boca Raton Boulevard, City Hall at 201 West Palmetto Park Road and at other locations with the event's signage.

Kids' Fishing Derby on August 24 | Parkland FL

The City of Parkland Parks and Recreation Division is inviting Parkland families to a free Kids' Fishing Derby event at the Pine Trails Park fishing pier on August 24, 2013, Saturday, 8-10 a.m. Bring your buckets, bait and fishing poles. The day's catch will be weighed and prizes will be awarded. You can call the city's Parks and Recreation office at 954-757-4113 for more details.
